In February 2015, INL scientists welcomed local artist Joseph Pehrson into the lab. The motivation for establishing an artist residency was to engage and inspire our researchers in novel ways. This collaboration has resulted in a body of artwork that peers into the world of science and offers ways for the public to explore new ideas and concepts.

Engaging people in science through artwork creates connections across cultures, diverse backgrounds and thinking styles. We can start to tell the story of our research through art, which opens a window for new thinking by researchers, artists and the community.
